GivingTuesday

Imagine for a second…

You are sitting in your office, and you get a call

The person on the other end is telling you that the Government collapsed, and you have

15 minutes to get to the airport, otherwise

Your life is at risk!!!

This is exactly what happened to more than 78,000 Afghan allies in chaotic withdrawal Of US forces from Afghanistan in August of last year. Most of them had no choice but to leave their loved ones behind.

Over 10,000 Afghan refugees came to California most of the new arrivals had to leave their loved ones behind.

Afghan American Muslim Outreach (AAMO) is one of the few Afghans led organization that has the language capability and the cultural understanding to assist the new arrivals and be their voice.

In the past year, AAMO has assisted over 600 refugees in Southern California with immigrations intakes.

Assisted over 50 newly arrived families with enrolling their children in schools

Referred many refugees to the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) for legal services

Conducted over 8 cultural awareness programs.

Provided bullying awareness and prevention workshops to over 75 families and school-age children.

Conducted mental health workshops that included mental health screenings, need assessment, and referred over 30 couple and individual cases to our mental health professionals.

Our goal is to raise $50,000

on this #GivingTuseday.
